“RAPPER’S DELIGHT” with Lamont Thomas of Obnox

For the rest of the Sugar Hill Gang story, and how their legal and label woes continue on to this day, check out the documentary, available for rent on YouTube.

Although “Rapper’s Delight” is often thought to be the first rap song, this preceded it, released March, 1979.

This is a three-part series, possibly at the Audubon in Harlem, featuring Melle Mel

Our guest, Lamont Thomas.

Obnox “Niggative Approach”

Obnox “Know America”
